BEACH SPLIT WITH CRUSADERS IN OAKVILLE

The Beach travelled to Oakville this past weekend and came away with a split in four games against their cross-town rivals.

The Magnificent 4's fell in a hard-fought battle by a close score of 26-20. The loss puts the side in the middle of their TRU B1 division with two games to go, including a 7pm encounter tomorrow evening against the Buccaneers at Gage Field.

The Mighty 3rds also fought bravely but came one try short of matching their opponents, losing 22-17 in what was their first loss of the season. They remain firmly locked in the no1 spot in their division, however, and are looking strong heading into what promises to be an exciting fall run at the club.

Determined to make up for their clubmates, the 2nd side continued their dominance over the Marshall 2nd division, winning 21-14 to preserve their undefeated record and with six games remaining they look in good shape to claim the division crown heading into the playoffs.

The quickly improving 1st side closed out the day with a 22-16 victory, winning their third match on the trot and putting them within four points of division leaders Aurora. The side is looking in fine fettle and on course to make a very serious run for the McCormick Cup once again.

The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd sides all return to action on August 12th against the Nomads at Fletcher's Fields in Markham.
